The leader expressed that they do not have an exact number of the economic losses of the land cargo transport union, but they have 20 days since the Colon Free Zone is full of trucks ready to go to Central America.
The land freight transport unions reported that they give a period of 48 hours for the Government to guarantee the safety of the carriers and the free transit of the roads that have been closed for 16 days due to the protests.
Given this scenario, Humberto Harris, a member of the Colón Land Freight Transport Association, pointed out that this term ends this Monday, and if the Executive does not comply, they will suspend the service, since the economic losses increase.
“We do not rule out a total paralysis of the entire country, we are summoning the Government to reopen the roads as soon as possible,” he said.
The leader said that they do not have an exact figure for the economic losses of the land freight transport union, but for 20 days the Colon Free Zone has been full of boxcars ready to leave for Central America and they have not been able to leave, either due to fear or because they do not dare to travel through the avenues.
