In this semester, Protecom has ordered the electricity distribution companies (Edes) to credit users with RD$19.5 million for complaints received that were declared admissible, this figure is much higher than previous years, since in the 12 months of 2021 it was credited RD$19.2 million.

From January to June of this year, 16,721 complaints have been received at the Electricity Consumer Protection Office (Protecom), 59.5% of these were declared admissible (9,951). These correspond to claims such as irregularities in the service or bills ordered to cancel, of which the user did not make any payment.

In all of 2021, 24,680 complaints were received, 19.2% of these were valid, and in 2020 there were 42,268, 33.8% valid.

In 2022, the largest number of complaints Edeeste received and had to credit RD$34.5 million; it is followed by Edesur with RD$15 million and Edenorte with RD$6 million. and the distributors Lemon Progress credited RD$2.1 million.
