Madrid Spain.- Five Cubans were found this weekend in a warehouse in the municipality of Jilotepec, in the central State of Mexico, where a group of 225 migrants, including minors, remained crowded.
Along with people from Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, the Cubans were waiting to be transferred by human traffickers to the north of the country and then cross the border with the United States.
According to reported the National Institute of Migration (INM) federal agents, with the support of elements of the National Guard and the Ministry of National Defense supported the actions to determine the origin of all.
The Cubans and the rest of the migrants were taken to the request of the immigration authority to offer them medical attention and humanitarian aid as well as to continue with the established legal process.

According to official data, so far this year some 4,361 irregular Cuban migrants have been returned to the island. They were repatriated mainly from Mexico and the United States, in 99 air and sea operations.
Also this Sunday, United States Border Patrol agents detained seven Cuban migrants (five men and two women, all adults) in Pigeon Key, in the Florida Keys.
As for the Cubans returned to the Island by the Coast Guard when trying to reach the United States by sea, the figure rises to 3,516 Cubans since October 1, 2021, the beginning of the current fiscal year. This data exceeds the number of Cuban migrants intercepted each fiscal year from 2017 to 2021.
According to the agency, the statistics have behaved as follows: 5,396 Cubans intercepted in fiscal year 2016; 1,468 in 2017; 259 in 2018; 313 in 2019; 49 in 2020 and 838 in 2021.
