The Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakis, He plans to meet with the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, and authorities from the United States Treasury Department, ministerial sources confirmed.
The Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakis, will be received next Monday in Washington by the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva.
This will be the first meeting that Batakis and Georgieva will have personally after the virtual contact they had on July 6, after the official was sworn in as the new head of the Palacio de Hacienda.
In that virtual meeting, both agreed to continue working together to promote macroeconomic stability on the path of growth.
The minister’s schedule
The ambassador to the United States, Jorge Argüello, worked on the agenda that the minister will develop in the United States capital, where the official will also hold meetings with officials from the Treasury, the World Bank, Wall Street investors and directors of international companies.
Arguello told Télam that on Monday Batakis will be received by “senior officials of the United States Treasury, later authorities of the International Monetary Fund and finally executives of the World Bank will do the same.”
He specified that “on Tuesday we are going to hold a working breakfast with investors and analysts from Wall Street, who will come to Washington” at the Argentine Embassy.
“Then we are going to have a round with the main North American companies that have investments in Argentina at the US Chamber of Commerce,” he added.
Likewise, Batakis’ agenda includes “a series of bilaterals with the authorities of the companies Google, Chevron, Amazon and General Motors.”
