Surtidoras advierte dificultades del sector

The Association of Suppliers of Santo Domingo (Asusado) He warned about the challenges that this sector is going through due to the increase in the prices of maritime freight, which have tripled.

Linny Ramírez de Soto, president of Asusado, indicated that her management in front of the entity is focused on working on the problem that the sector is facing with the shortage of imported products due to the situation of shipping, whose freight costs have come to cost three times more than the original price that was before the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the head of the swearing-in of a new Asusado board of directors, Linny Ramírez said that she will focus on supporting artisanal products with items from the bakery, confectionery, and candy areas, among others, offering support to entrepreneurial merchants.

“In this great crisis with freight, it is an opportunity for the supplier sector to be able to support and open up the Creole corner,” he said.

Asusado is an organization with 30 years of existence and is made up of 53 active members and 68 members of the National District, Santo Domingo and provinces such as Moca, San Cristóbal and La Altagracia.

During the activity, Linny Ramírez took over the new board of directors composed of Casio Mejía, from Surtidora Mejía, as first vice president; Cesarina Delgado, from Surtidora Sarath, as second vice president; Víctor Hernández, from Surtidora Denis, as general secretary; Franklin Veloz, from Surtidora Aurora, as treasurer; Henry Pérez, from Surtidora Mercadulce, as organization secretary; Ures Carolina, from Surtidora Prestigio, as secretary of minutes and correspondence; Miguel Soto, from Surtidora Linny, as secretary of public relations; Emilio Moreno, from Surtidora Plaza Guerra, as secretary of discipline; Olga Payero, from Surtidora Finina.

The new board of directors was sworn in by Jorge Morales, deputy minister for the Promotion of MSMEs of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Upon taking the oath, the president of Asusado said that her management will work with merchants to identify the needs of the trade in the supplier channel and seek solutions.

During the activity, the Asusado board of directors recognized several companies and personalities for their outstanding work in commerce.

Frito Lay Dominicana was recognized as company of the year, for its support of the association; Molinos Modernos was recognized as Outstanding Company of the Year; Mr. Marlon Mancía, from Corporación Dinant, was recognized as manager of the year; and Francisco Veloz Hernández was recognized as partner of the year.

As Surtidora MercaDulce 1 of Mr. Henry Pérez Sánchez, it was recognized as supplier of the year; Mr. Víctor Hernández Espinal was recognized as a technology manager; and Olga Payero was recognized as a presidential advisor.
