The Colorado Honor Movement issued a statement after the announcement by the United States Embassy about the leader of the sector, former President of the Republic, Horacio Cartes.
In a first point, the statement offers all the support, trust and backing to former President Horacio Cartes, within the framework of this decision “clearly unfounded, unfair and with an open political intent”, which they firmly question.
From the movement they maintain that the political campaign, starting today a new objective and emotional component: “multiply efforts so that the announced and projected electoral victory of December 18 is even more forceful, ratifying the conviction of the Colorado people with the objective of Honor Colorado to found a homeland with better opportunities for all Paraguayans”.
They also maintain that the Embassy’s communication only implies the denial of Horacio Cartes’ entry to the United States, and does not have or provide any data that could lead to substantial evidence or evidence in the judicial sphere.
“We would regret that a distorted story, and the manipulation of State institutions by the current government of Paraguay and its allies, could be input for this position expressed in the Embassy,” they highlight.
On the other hand, they indicate that the Presidential campaign with Santiago Peña and Pedro Alliana, and the campaign for the Governing Board of Horacio Cartes will not suffer any alteration in the face of this fact. On the contrary, they will increase “the intensity, the fervor and the commitment”.
