The largest environmental campaign in the region, promoted by the NGO A Todo Pulmón, once again exceeded the number of registered trees from last year and is getting ready to choose the winners from among 713 applications registered nationwide.
This initiative carried out annually seeks to provide a valuable and important contribution to make visible the importance of preserving our forests, and this year with a slogan as important as “Let nature surprise you”, an invitation to go out and connect with the nature, with the forests and with the environment that surrounds us, to know it, value it and protect it.
From now on, a select jury made up of national authorities, forestry, environmental and agronomist engineers; In addition to representatives of the media, they will be in charge of selecting the finalist trees, based on their measurements and the stories or photographs for the different current categories.
“We still cannot believe the number of applications, because last year there were 662 and we said it was too many. Each registration means that one more tree is being cared for, valued and is an example that we have to continue conserving them”, said Osvaldo Turlan, Executive Director of A Todo Pulmón.
There will be awards in 7 categories: the largest tree, the tallest, the one with the largest trunk circumference, the one with the largest crown, the tree of the people, the largest in the Paraguayan Chaco and the International Colossus.
After the selection of finalists comes the expeditions loaded with new itineraries, adrenaline and stories to discover.

The call to award trees from Latin American and Caribbean countries remains open until July 28 of the current year. So far, 9 international applications have been registered and the number is increasing.
