This Thursday, an official of the Municipal Government of Canelones filed a criminal complaint against the deputy of the National Party, Alfonso Lereté, who would have assaulted her in the middle of a public hearing.
According to journalist Eduardo Preve and the M24 web portal, the official “He corrected it” in something he said and the legislator replied to “shut your mouth”; immediately afterwards, he pushed her and several people interceded, according to eyewitness testimonies.
The official, whose identity remains anonymous, filed the complaint with the Specialized Gender Police Station in Parque del Plata.
All this happened in the middle of a hearing convened at the Parque del Plata Sports Club, since the Canarian administration questions the legality of the property where its activities take place and its headquarters take place, and that is why a trial was initiated for alleged irregularities.

Lereté’s version is different. She claims to have opened her arms “as if he were Christ” while talking to another person. “It seems that he was the devil, it seems that I am to blame for everything,” she commented jokingly. Then, says the legislator, the official would have told him: “It happens that nobody loves you” and there he told him to calm down so as “not to generate more spark in a situation that is quite tense”, according to the newspaper The country.
He adds that there came “a raid” of leaders of the Broad Front and other directors of the IMC. “They relaxed me, they rebuked me and they wanted to hit me,” he added.
Lereté was a player for the club in question and has stated that he is on the side of the institution.
