Minister of Education commits to return to face-to-face classes and fulfill the 200 days of the school calendar

The Minister of Education, Edgar Pary, through his Twitter account, promised to return to face-to-face work and complete 200 days of classesafter having announced the second extension of the pedagogical break due to the increase in Covid-19 infections.

“Our president @LuchoXBoliviaguarantees the right to #education Yet the #Healthwe are working on it. On August 1 we will return to face-to-face classes and we are committed to complying with the 200 working days of the school calendar”, he posted.

After an epidemiological evaluation, that State portfolio and the Ministry of Health communicated the second extension to the return to academic work, because coronavirus cases jumped 62 percent last week and the increase will continue this and the next.

On Thursday, Pary led an evaluation meeting of the first semester in Cochabamba, together with the departmental directors and deputy directors of Education. To comply with the school calendar, the activities must last until the beginning of December. However, the leaders of the teaching profession expressed their refusal to hold classes in December.

Health data indicates that vaccination among children 5 to 11 years old reaches 46.9 percent with first doses and 32.8 percent with complete regimen; and between 12 and 17 years old 55.9% in first doses, and 43.5% with complete regimen.
