The 134th edition of the Palermo Rural Exhibition It opened its doors again this Thursday, after two years without the traditional event due to the coronavirus pandemic, with a significant presence of the public and a reduced number of political leaders on its opening day.
In this way, the traditional fair organized by the Argentine Rural Society (SRA), which this time has more than 400 exhibitorsyes it will spread until Sunday July 31or, it also has the presence of entity stands and national ministries and representations of most provinces.
“I am very happy with what was this first day, in which we were able to open the doors again after two years without activitywith a very good repercussion from the public, the president of the SRA told Télam, Nicholas Pine.
“The Argentine countryside is going to receive the city in this show with 10% more animals registered, with more than 400 exhibitors, with the generation of 10,000 jobs and with business projected for more than 18,000 million pesos,” he added. Pine tree.
For his part, the executive director of the Argentine Association of Hereford Breeders (AACH), Juan Manuel Aloecelebrated the return of the fair and stated that “the joy of being here is enormouswith all the breeders and the cabins meeting again and also with our potential clients”.

The rancher considered that the panorama of the sector is “very good”despite “certain circumstances in the country, which means that the potential seen in terms of prices cannot be fully exploited.”
“But regardless of the scenario we have, efficiency has to come first. If we are going through a bad scenario, we must be efficient and if it is the other way around, too. That is our path,” Aloé stressed.
The main associations of cattle breeders, equine pigs, avian, sheep and camelids, among others, and also agricultural machinery and service companies participate in the sample.
However, in this edition there was a particular absence of animals referring to dairy farming, such as the classic Holando Argentinas, due to cost issues.
In the exhibition that takes place in the fairgrounds of Palermo also the presence of the national government stands outthrough stands of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries -in which informative talks are given by specialists from the National Service for Food Safety and Quality (Senasa)- and the Banco Nación (BNA).
At noon, the president of the BNA, Edward Heckerwas present at the fairgrounds and inaugurated the stand of the banking entity, the largest lender in the sector.
Speaking to the press, Hecker maintained that “the credit assistance of the Nation is the most important of all banks for the agricultural sector and we come to reaffirm that commitment today”.
According to Hecker, currently the bank’s credit position in agriculture “is very high”, with 400,000 million pesos in loans for agricultural producers.
Also participating in the exhibition are Argentine Trains, the General Administration of Ports (AGP), in addition to the provinces of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Santiago del Estero and San Juan, among others.
Regarding the political level, this Thursday the national legislators of Together for Change (JxC) were present Diego Santilli Y Ricardo Lopez Murphywho ran through the sample.
