US President Joe Biden ‘tested positive for Covid-19’ on Thursday and has “very mild symptoms,” his spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.
The 79-year-old Democrat “started taking Paxlovid”, Pfizer’s anticovid pill, and will self-isolate in the White House until he tests negative, he added. He specified that the president, fully vaccinated and receiving two booster doses, “will continue to assume all his functions” during this time.
