In the note sent to the president of Congress, Senator Martín Arévalo argued that the project is due to the serious situation that the insured of the Social Security Institute (IPS) are going through, added to the complaints of acts of corruption.

Likewise, the senator refers that it is of the utmost importance to carry out a restructuring in order to seek new strategies to deal with the health crisis.

The senator requests the accompaniment of his colleagues to approve the project.

It should be remembered that the Chamber of Deputies approved this Wednesday the request to interpellate the head of IPS, Vicente Bataglia. It will be convened in an extra session on a date to be defined.

The questionnaire will be sent to Bataglia, who will have to appear before the plenary session and answer the questioning, as well as the “cross-examinations” that may arise from their answers.

If a vote of no confidence is issued, it will imply a recommendation or exhortation to the Executive, to dismiss the person questioned. However, since it is not binding, Abdo will be able to turn a blind eye and keep Bataglia in office.
