A passenger train arrived this Wednesday at San Antonio de Arecoafter 30 years, by making a test trip from the Capilla del Señor station, prior to the return of the service between these two towns in the province of Buenos Aires, planned for the first months of 2023.
The 38-kilometre route will also make it possible to reconnect, after 30 years, the bus stops Gaynor, Solis Y Vagues to the train services of the miter line that unites the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires with the north of the suburbs.
In order for the test trip to take place, dismantling and weeding of the tram were carried outor, in addition to carrying out the comprehensive improvement of roads and 30 percent of the sleepers, together with the reconditioning of the Areco station changes.

The return of the service is expected for the first months of 2023once the railway adaptation tasks have been completed on the Matheu-Los Cardales section with the aim of improving speed, comfort and safety conditions.
Likewise, work is being done on the repair of level crossings, track devices (crossings and diversions) and lines in the rest of the branch line.
