Once the national day of recruitment of medical specialists concluded, the health sector finalized the hiring of 2 thousand 621 doctors, of 14 thousand 323 vacancies that exist throughout the country, that is, only 18 percent of the personnel that was needed was covered , informed the general director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, who announced that the permanent call will be launched from tomorrow to be able to cover the positions of the professionals that are required, fundamentally in rural hospitals.
During the morning conference, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated that this deficit of doctors it is the clearest, irrefutable reflection or proof of the failure of the neoliberal model in Mexico and in the world. Imagine that there are no doctors in the countries, there are no specialists
. He described how, when detecting the lack of personnel in hospitals, “to our consolation, if it is any consolation – he ironically – we look for ways to solve the problem in other countries, but there isn’t either”.
He pointed out that the only country where there has been a training of doctors is Cuba, so even, despite their political differences, Brazil reached an agreement to hire medical personnel from the island. That is why the neoliberal model is a resounding failure. Not only in Mexico, in the world. At the same time, the furthest places cannot be left aside for medical personnel to attend, although of course It is the responsibility of the government, which is fulfilling it in every way, whether they are doctors or any worker, they must be in that security

Robledo detailed the scope of the day for hiring specialist doctors at the end of the third phase, informing that in order to reach coverage of 82 percent of the places that remained vacant, the call will remain open as of tomorrow, and added that in hiring Specialists include those who have a retired status. He highlighted that the biggest lag in hiring persists in rural hospitals.
Of 8,858 professionals required at Insabi, only 1,483 could be hired. At IMSS, of 2,584 vacancies offered, 739 were filled; in the IMSS Welfare, of 1,765 places available, only 128 were assigned; in the Issste, of 1,077 only 223 were covered; in the Pemex hospitals, 36 out of 133 were hired, and in the Health Institutes 12 out of 28 places were covered.
