This was said by Hipólito Mejía about Electric Pact

The former President of the Republic, Hipolito Mejiasaid this Wednesday that any measure taken by the President Luis Abinader will have your support, even if you disagree

When approached by the press at the opening ceremony of the offices of the Dominican Football Federation (Fedofutbol), the former president said that he is not an expert on the electrical issue nor does he want to be and supports all the president’s decisions.

“I am going to support the things that Luis does, whether I like it or not,” he said.

He added that he supports any measure taken to prevent inflation, “inflation drives anyone crazy.”

Referring to the opposition’s criticism of the Electric PactMejía responded “to foolish words, deaf ears.”

This Tuesday the President Luis Abinader announced the suspension of increases in the electricity rate that were scheduled in the Electric Pact and requested the Economic and Social Council (CES) to convene the social, political and business sectors to review the aforementioned agreement.
