After a pulse with representative Katherine Miranda and Humberto de la Calle, David Racero was appointed as the president of the House of Representatives for the first legislature of the period 2022-2026.
(This is how the presidency of the Senate was distributed for the next 4 years).
Racero, elected as a representative by Bogotá and who was part of the Decency coalition, repeats as a representative to the Chamber.
The decision of his arrival at this dignity was made at the meeting of party delegates that took place this Tuesday in Bogotá.
This philosopher and economist raised his campaign around “Lead the great transformations that young people want.”
Racero is a teacher, which is why one of the pillars of his campaign was “With pedagogy we can transform the country.”
Among his most representative commitments, he proposed to advance during his work in the Legislative in the reform of the Police with the elimination of Esmad, reforms to health, pension and education.
(This is how the distribution of positions of the new Congress of Colombia goes).
“I have shown that I attack the corrupt head-on, as I did with Minister Karen Abudinen or as when I won the empty seat of the Conservative Party in the seat of the corrupt Aida Merlano. Also, because I have made a strong political control of the administration of Iván Duque. For example, I was the protagonist of the motions of censure against the worst government ministers, I denounced Duque himself for the ‘Ñeñepolítica’, an investigation that is still ongoing, and I denounced his jam in the embassies, managing to get the consul out of London, irregularly appointed”, assured El Tiempo, in the middle of the campaign.
