Cuba: The mandatory use of a mask returns in public transport and children’s circles

Madrid Spain.- The Cuban Government announced the mandatory use of the mask in public transportation and in children’s circles, due to the increase in coronavirus infections on the Island.

The decision was made during meeting of the temporary work group for the prevention and control of COVID-19 corresponding to this Tuesday, in which new measures were established “to confront the disease”, reported the official media Cubadebate.

New measures in the face of the increase in positive cases of COVID-19

—Establish the obligatory use of the nasobuco in collective means of transport and children’s circles.

—Apply the second booster to the population between 19 and up to 49 years of age, with the approved “vaccines”.

—Start in the month of August the first booster for children between 2 years and 11 years and 11 months.

—Encourage the use of the mask when exposed to groups of people.

—Require by all the corresponding authorities, the obligatory use of a facemask in people with respiratory symptoms.

—Encourage the use of disinfectant substances for hands, as well as the availability of soap and water for hand washing in workplaces and students.

—Maintain adequate ventilation (preferably natural) in the premises where social activities take place.

Last week the Cuban authorities recognized the increase in cases of COVID-19 in the country during the last month. According to data from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), until mid-July the transmission of the COVID-19 virus had grown by 83.8% compared to June, as the average number of cases per day increased to 41.9 ; against 22.8 recorded in the sixth month of the year.

On that occasion, the MINSAP stated: “It is It is necessary to insist that people voluntarily opt for the use of the mask, which is an effective protection against the possibility that there may be an increase in positive cases.”
