The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued a yellow alert given the probability of formation of storms and heavy rains, in the east of the country.
The institute reports that in addition to heavy rains and strong gusts of wind, there could be occasional hail falls and intense electrical activity.
The phenomenon responds to an atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass. It will generate storms, some occasionally strong.
In addition, there may be intense rains in short periods, occasional hail falls, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind.
It will be updated at 10:00 p.m., or in the event of significant changes. “The situation will continue to be monitored and any changes will be reported,” Inumet said.
