Lioness escapes from a cage on a farm in Puerto Plata

A lioness escaped this Tuesday from a cage where they kept her in captivity on a farm in the Copey community in the municipality Altamirafrom the province Puerto Plata.

The animal wandered around the plot for several hours without attacking anyone.

Specialized caregivers came to the scene, who managed to anesthetize her and return her to the cage.

The lioness It is owned by businessman Tony Turbí.

Whascar Garcia, director of the Civil defense in Puerto Plataindicated that the owner said he had the environmental permits to have the lioness like a pet.

The lifeguard pointed out that they are waiting for personnel from the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources to validate the authorization that certifies Turbí to have a lioness like a pet.
