MIAMI, United States. – Cuban Luis Daniel Gálvez was crowned Mister Supranational 2022 on July 16, after beating 33 other applicants from around the world in the sixth edition of the beauty competition, which has been held every year in Poland since 2016.
With his triumph, Gálvez inherits the title of Varo Vargas, from Peru. The first beauty pageant finalist was Matthew Gilbert, from Indonesia; while Leonidas Amfilochios from Greece emerged as the second runner-up.
For their part, Moisés Peñaloza, from Mexico, and Heriberto Rivera, from Puerto Rico, completed the circle of winners as third and fourth finalists, respectively.
Before his triumph, the 27-year-old Cuban model expressed his happiness not only for his country, “but for all Cubans who travel the world looking for the desire of their hearts and their goals.”
after being crowned, on Instagram Gálvez thanked to all the people who supported him. “I’ve gotten so many messages,” he said. “I haven’t had time to respond that much. They have written me a lot and I don’t want to be reading just to read, I want to have a little time to go to bed and read little by little, and respond too”.
“Today I shed my tears, many. I had to fire several of the guys as well and, I don’t know, a lot of emotions come together. Everything I’ve had to go through to be here today. The message that I have had to give also, despite the result of winning, that I am very happy and content, but it gives all that feeling of what I have had to go through to get here”, he confessed.
“Having to convert all the falls. The other day she was talking with a friend about all the falls and the things that have happened to one in life. Having the ability to turn them into love and not only for yourself but for others and being able to transmit that to others is a big task (…). I just have to say thank you, ”she finished.
The Cuban’s victory came a day after the culmination of the Miss Supranational female contest, where Lalela Mswane from South Africa became the first woman from her country to win the crown.
