Mandate recovery figures reach 17,269 signatures collected

The Electoral Tribunal (TE), announced that until noon today, Monday, July 18, 2022, a total of 17,269 signatures have been recorded in the process for the revocation of the mandate by popular initiative of the mayor of the district of Panama, José Luis Fábrega, started on April 20.

It is expected that, if the total number of supporting signatures required is reached, the Electoral Court will proceed to call a recall referendum within a period not exceeding three months; however, if signatures are not achieved, the application will be archived and the applicant will have two business days to file an appeal.

Within this process, the following collection methods are being used:

– Tribunal Contigo website.
– TE kiosks
– Software installed on cell phones of activists to recruit people.
– The offices of the Electoral Tribunal in the district of Panama.
