Parenting: how to help children succeed in exams?

The accompaniment of the teacher and the academic aptitudes are components that determine the performance of a student within the school; however, we know that parents are the first teachers who influence the lives of their children. But, what happens when the minor has to take an exam and is not sufficiently prepared? How to support him? The Corefo Editions specialists offer five tips to help you in this situation so that the little one can carry out their evaluations with a greater probability of success.

  1. Promotes punctuality and planning. Try to teach your child the use of an agenda, where he plans his evaluation dates in advance, insists that he have adequate rest habits that allow him to appear for his evaluations relaxed and without unnecessary pressure.
  2. Preparation. Practice with your child the possible questions of the exam, help him to get question bases and accompany him to solve them so that he feels more confident and prepared.
  3. Talk to the teacher. If you have any concerns about the test or the testing situation, talk to your child’s teacher. He conveys your interest in his performance and that the teacher tells you how you could help him in a better way.
  4. Feeding. Make sure your child eats properly, try to avoid excessive intake of sugar and fat. Healthy nutrition will help your child in his performance.
  5. Talk to your child about his test results. Show interest in your child’s results, listen to him and recommend corrective actions; or in the absence thereof; congratulate him when the results are good.

Finally, remember that a balanced family environment will give your child the emotional stability he needs to perform better and succeed in his results.
