Social, political, trade union and human rights organizations denounced this Monday that the Jujuy Judicial Power ordered the security forces of the province to form “working groups” to “infiltrate” a mobilization carried out on April 1 last.

In addition, the organizations announced that this Tuesday they will mobilize from 10 o’clock in the provincial capital in repudiation of this judicial action, within the framework of a case for illicit association, which they demanded to be closed.

The call was announced this Monday by the leaders of the groups in Plaza Belgrano, where they defined what happened as “very serious”, alluding to the “infiltration of the police in the mobilizations” with the aim of obtaining “details of the functioning of social and political organizations”.

Meanwhile, in the city of Buenos Aires, the Piquetera Unit announced that it will also demonstrate this Tuesday under the slogan “Enough of criminalizing those of us who fight against the adjustment”, in support of Jujuy organizations.

The organization will march from the Obelisk to the House of the Province of Jujuy, at 967 Santa Fe Avenue, starting at 9, “to repudiate the persecution carried out by Governor Gerardo Morales,” he reported.

On July 6, Control Judge Rodolfo Fernández, at the request of prosecutor Diego Funes, specialized in Economic Crimes and Crimes against the Public Administration, ordered 16 raids on the homes of leaders and headquarters of social organizations for alleged illicit association.

During these operations, documentation, cell phones and computer equipment were seized, among other objects.

“They carried out intelligence tasks since the beginning of April to identify their referents with an illegal and persecutory action that flagrantly violates basic human and democratic rights,” they said in a statement released this Monday.

The convened organizations recalled that “The intelligence tasks requested by the judiciary occurred immediately after (Governor) Gerardo Morales At the beginning of the ordinary sessions, it will brand the referents of social organizations as criminals.”

“It is very serious that they accuse social organizations as illicit associations. We had already suffered from the illegal actions of intelligence during the government of (Mauricio) Macri, like when we went to Esquel to show solidarity with the family of Santiago Maldonado a few days after having disappeared”, reflected the left-wing deputy Myriam Bregman, who participated in the press conference.

For its part, the national deputy Alejandro Vilca asked for the support of the trade union centrals and demanded that “Break the truce with the government and call for a provincial strike and mobilization to put a stop to this advance.”

The organizations denounced that after “the assembly” of the case, “the prosecutor did not take care of the forms with words that reminded us of dark times and the judge, instead of rejecting in limine such a claim, gave him support.”

“This harassment is generating fear among colleagues. Not only for that day but because of the constant stigmatization that exists towards our organizations where boys and girls come for a plate of food. We are not working in peace,” the referent of the Popular Movement told Télam Our America Gonzalo Maurín.

The mobilization this Tuesday will be at the provincial level to demand “the immediate closure of the case, the repeal of the Contraventional Code and for the cessation of persecution and the criminalization of social protest.”
