A 29-year-old man, a resident of Tlaquepaque, is the 11th case of monkeypox infection in the state, three have been ruled out and there is a suspect, reported the Jalisco Health Secretariat (SSJ).
On July 3, the patient began to feel symptoms: headache and muscle pain, fever, chest lesions, facial and back papules, as well as itchy skin.
As background, the man states that he traveled to Puerto Vallarta on June 29. Then the sample analysis was carried out by the Institute of Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference (Indre), with which it was confirmed that he is positive for monkeypox. He was isolated for 21 days, the SSJ added.
The agency also reported the suspicious case of another man who went to the tourist area of Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, on June 3, and who began to have symptoms on July 8. His sample was sent to Indre and, at the moment, it is in his house.
