Cuba-Mexico business forum concludes in Havana

With the signing of agreements arising from the business rounds, the Cuba-Mexico business forum concluded today at the National Hotel.

According to reports, more than 80 Mexican and 150 Cuban companies discussed possible economic and commercial links, especially in the fields of agribusiness, biopharmaceuticals and medical services, energy, transportation, tourism, and creative and artistic industries.

During the morning of today, the meetings continued at the work tables. A group of Mexican businessmen visited the Mariel Special Development Zone and other places of interest.

The session last Thursday was attended by President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero.

On the Mexican side, Héctor Guerrero Herrera, Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce, was in Havana, who spoke out for the agreement of new and larger businesses.

Mexico is among Cuba’s main trading partners. In order to consolidate and diversify economic ties, the Cuban participants explained the opportunities of sectors such as agriculture and the food industry in terms of trade and foreign investment.
