Six people arrested for diversion of Clap bags in Trujillo

This Friday, the governor of the Trujillo state, Gerardo Márquez, referred to the arrest in flagrante delicto of six citizens for the diversion of 3,740 bags of food from the Local Supply and Production Committees (Clap), which were to be delivered to the families. of El Vigía in the state of Mérida.

During the radio program Talk to me Gerardo! number 17, the president explained that the procedure was carried out thanks to the complaints issued through his account on social networks.

“Some cooperating patriots informed us on social networks that two trucks of Clap bags were being unloaded in a private warehouse. Immediately the director of citizen security, the government secretary, the police and the Public Ministry acted and we captured them in flagrante delicto. Each truck had 1,870 bags, almost 4,000 families were going to be left without the bag; They acted like a mafia with organized crime and we captured them », he detailed.

He added that the merchandise came from Falcón state destined for Mérida state, specifically Vigía; The trucks were diverted in the municipality of Miranda, in the Agua Santa sector.

«They had half a truck unloaded in the shed. The food company that was going to receive them had already signed four hours before arriving at the Vigía that had accepted them, it had the receipt stamp; for this fact there are six people deprived of liberty and those who are missing », he pointed out.

According to the police report, the detainees were identified as Juan Carlos González (44), Pedro Bencomo (67), Marguin Bencomo (24), Marcos Andrade (27) and José Benítez (57), who remained at the order of the Ministry’s Prosecutor’s Office. Public.

Theft of ferrous material

Governor Gerardo Márquez recalled that this week the members of a gang dedicated to theftmarketing and extraction of ferrous material.

“This week we have dealt a heavy blow to the scrap metal mafias. We receive information from the people. A huge amount of material that had been dismantled by the silos of a balanced feed company for animals, the owner also filed a complaint and we obtained the material that had been stolen in some patios in the Miranda municipality », he indicated.

He stated that the stolen material belonged to a balanced animal feed company (ABA) located in Agua Viva, Miranda municipality.

Likewise, he denounced that these citizens were seeking to steal the gates of the Agua Viva dam, a fact that was avoided thanks to the timely actions of the security forces.

“They told us very sensitive information, that part of the gates of the Agua Viva dam were going to be stolen, and we went there with the security teams and avoided the madness that the scrap metal mafias were going to commit. They are detained there and the Public Ministry and the justice bodies are acting », he emphasized.

Márquez highlighted the importance of the complaints issued by the people of Trujillo through social networks.

“Social networks are important, it is there where the people make their complaints to us and all complaints that I receive in the process and in 90 percent of the cases they are true,” he pointed out.
