“I reject these falsehoods, these fallacies, these delusions about meetings with people I have not had dealings with. Neither with Mr. Zamir Villaverde nor with Bruno Pacheco nor with Vladimir Meza, with any of the people that these people are referring to. Nor have I met them outside of Lima or in the capital or anywhere.”, exclaimed Jorge Salas.

“There have been some disproportionate, excessive and false comments in relation to the performance of the National Elections Jury and its president, in the first and second rounds of the past elections. It is not news that is being talked about, because it is a group that, persistently, has been doing the same thing,” Salas pointed out.
In that criticism, he said that they are “unsubstantiated statements that seek to generate doubts to justify some type of intervention (criticism of the government)”, for which he stressed that the work of the entity is not intended to please that sector, but rather to fulfill with the duties of the law.
“We are not going to respond to loose statements that are known as gossip and we are going to continue with our functions in accordance with the law,” he said.
Zamir Villaverde denounces electoral fraud
Last Thursday, businessman Zamir Villaverde said—without any proof—that the actions of Vladimir Meza, former mayor of Huaraz, in Pedro Castillo’s electoral campaign was coordination with the president of the National Elections Jury on the electoral process in order to harm Keiko Fujimori and Rafael López Aliaga.
