Esther Roa, a social activist, informed Radio Libre 1200 AM that she is running for deputy for Central for the Febrerista Revolutionary Party (PRF). Her candidacy is due to the fact that the country needs options and a jolt to stop voting for them.
“The experience I have had for 10 years fighting against the Judiciary helps me so that impunity does not continue to reign in Paraguay,” he said.
She argued that she was charged when she protested against corruption in times of pandemic. And that since then, the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) calls her from time to time for administrative summaries.
“I could not continue with that intensity of struggle knowing that at any moment a prosecutor will fall on me. I have been a social fighter for more than a decade. I will be a candidate for deputy of Central, I need between 30 to 40 thousand votes. I’m leaving for the PRF. They haven’t had representatives in Congress for 30 years,” she commented.
She argued that from her seat, if she is elected, she will seek to strengthen Justice in Paraguay, which means that she will shake judges and prosecutors. On the other hand, she will work to strengthen civil society. So that citizens have a voice and a vote in their municipalities and governments.
