The NMS (National Metereological Service) issued orange and yellow alerts for several provinces, because this Friday there will be rains, storms, hail and snowfall.
According to what was reported by the organism, in Chubut and Río Negro there are high chances of rain; while, to Santa Fe, Entre Ríos and Corrientes storms will arrive, for which, also, the fall of hail could occur, as notified by the NMS.
“The area will be affected by storms of varying intensity, some of which may be locally strong. Accumulated precipitation values between 15 and 30 mm are expected, and may be exceeded locally. Also, it is possible that strong gusts, hail fall and intense electrical activity will be recorded.“, indicated the NMS.
In addition, the entity notified that, once the rains and storms end, in this part of the country, a cold front will be registered, so the temperature will drop throughout the weekend.
For its part, there will be snowfall in La Rioja, Mendoza, San Juan, San Luis, Catamarca and Río Negro, where locally heavy snowfall is expected and “accumulated snow values between 20 and 50 cm high are expected, and may be exceeded in punctual form. In the mountainous and low areas, values between 5 and 10 cm in height are expected”.
Precisely because of the snowfall in recent days in Mendoza, most of the border crossings between Chile and Argentina remain closed, which has left a large number of cars and trucks stranded waiting for weather conditions to improve.
Of the 71 border crossings between the two countries, only 12 are enabled. Even The Cristo Redentor Pass has been closed for a week, because, for security, vehicular traffic cannot be allowed.
How will the weather be in the City of Buenos Aires
In accordance with the organism, in the City of Buenos Aires and surroundings, there will be showers during the afternoon and evening. The minimum temperature will be 12º and the maximum 15º.
On Saturday a day with drizzles and showers is expected with temperatures that will oscillate between 10º and 13º. Partly cloudy skies are expected on Sunday with a minimum temperature of 5º and a maximum of 15º.
