Maduro calls to build the “most powerful health system” in Latin America

The Venezuelan ruler Nicholas Maduroordered this Thursday to employ almost 4,000 new professionals, such as officials of the public health network, while calling to “build the most powerful health system” in Latin America.

“These 3,894 professionals who have received their degree must receive their official position in health institutions at the national level (…) For you to know, 78% are women and 22% are men,” he instructed, while promising facilities for obtain a home and a vehicle. “It will be little by little, I can’t promise you what I don’t have right now.”

From the total figure, 2,199 Comprehensive Community Doctors (MIC); 177 graduates in Nursing; 17 graduates in Imaging; 65 Physiotherapy graduates and two Occupational Therapy graduates.

As Higher University Technicians (TSU), 641 graduate in Nursing; 200 in Imaging; 585 in Physiotherapy; three Occupational Therapy and five in Speech Therapy.

Likewise, he ordered the Minister of Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, to grant each of the new professionals “his official position immediately” in health institutions throughout the country, in which drugs and work material are scarce, as well as personnel. medical and nursing.

During a graduation ceremony, Maduro urged the graduates to “build a powerful public, universal, integrated, free and quality system for health, which is the most powerful, supportive, scientific, the most efficient that has ever been known in land of Venezuela and in Latin America and the Caribbean,” he said.

The president urged the graduates to continue their studies. “We are going to study the postgraduate courses, the National Training Programs. We have to guarantee the future”, he said.

For her part, the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, announced that a National Pharmacy Training Plan will be implemented, as well as postgraduate courses in Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology.
