Estrella Azul dairy and beverage processing plant in critical situation after closures and demonstrations in the country

This Thursday morning, the Estrella Azul company revealed in a statement that the dairy and beverage processing plant is in a critical situation at the operational level after the closures and demonstrations that have taken place throughout the country.

They affirm that these road closures have affected the country’s dairy supply chain and the company in question has suffered inconveniences from the collection of milk, and obtaining supplies of basic inputs for operation, to fuel shortages and the difficulty to transport the fresh milk to the plant in Panama for processing.

The dairy products company indicated that its Boquerón Collection Center is at its maximum storage capacity and the fuel for the operation of its facilities is already at minimum levels.

This makes it difficult to cool and finish the milk, processes necessary for its conservation.

The representatives of Estrella Azul stated that they have made every possible effort to assist their producers, collecting milk daily and ensuring that they do not receive an additional impact on their resources and on the operation of their farms, assuming the risk of damage from large volumes stored and loss of shelf life of milk that could not be used regularly for the production of products during all these days of uncertainty.

They promised to sustain their operation as long as circumstances allow. However, they warn that if they cannot reach their farms, they ask for understanding, under the sensitivity that they have made all their commitments to contain this crisis.
