In almost eight months of existence, the Pix Saque and Pix Troco modalities moved R$ 112.1 million, announced today (12) the Central Bank (BC). The agency started to present monthly statistics on the use of these Pix features after the end of the strike your servers which lasted three months.
The use of this means of payment has been increasing month by month, since launch at the end of November last year. In December, the first month of the historical series, account holders withdrew R$ 442.13 thousand through Pix Saque and R$ 26.21 thousand through Pix Troco. In June, the amounts jumped to R$ 31.03 million through Pix Saque and to R$ 321.5 thousand through Pix Troco.
The increase can also be noticed by the number of transactions. In December, 3,588 withdrawals were made by Pix Saque and only 293 by Pix Troco. In June, the number rose to 223,423 operations by Pix Saque and 2,693 by Pix Troco.
Despite the evolution, the two modalities are still little used compared to the total volume of transfers via Pix. In June, the instant payment system handled BRL 772.735 billion, in 1.634 billion transactions. Since the creation of Pix, in November 2020, BRL 17.537 trillion has been handled in this type of transfer.

Both tools were released on November 29, 2021. These modalities allow the withdrawal in cash and the obtaining of change in commercial establishments and other places of public circulation.
At Pix Saque, customers can withdraw at any point where the service is offered, such as shops and ATMs, both at shared terminals and at the financial institution itself. In this modality, the account holder points the cell phone camera at a QR code (advanced version of the bar code), makes a Pix for the establishment or financial institution and withdraws the money at the cashier’s mouth.
Pix Troco allows withdrawal during the payment of a purchase. The customer makes a Pix equivalent to the sum of the purchase and withdrawal and receives the difference as change in cash. The customer statement specifies the portion intended for purchase and the amount withdrawn as change.
