During the night of this Monday, the review commission of the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies, decided to reject the origin of the constitutional accusation against the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, filed by the Republican Party.
The instance, made up of parliamentarians Christian Moreira (UDI), Christian Matheson (Ind-Evópoli), Fernando Bórquez (Ind-UDI), and deputies María Candelaria Acevedo (Ind-PC) and Natalia Romero (Ind-UDI), had the task of analyzing the libel and voting on its relevance.

After this, they issued a report -which is not binding- as a recommendation to the Chamber of the Lower House, which will be reviewed by the instance with the details of the accusation.

After more than four hours of presentations and interventions, the parliamentarians decided to reject the relevance of the accusation against the head of the Interior with one vote in favor, three against and one abstention.
Christian Moreira (UDI) was the only vote in favor and Matheson (Ind-Evópoli) abstained. Meanwhile, the rest of the parliamentarians, despite having rejected the accusation, were critical of Minister Siches’ management.
With this result, the constitutional accusation against the Secretary of State will arrive at the Chamber of the Lower House with a negative report, and will be deliberated during the day of next Tuesday, July 12.
