Relatives of Yader Parajón, concerned: "Not a single light can be seen in the tunnel"

The political prisoner Yader of the Angels Parajon, 31, is serving 310 days of being held captive in the Judicial Assistance Directorate (DAJ), known as “El Nuevo Chipote” in Managua. It is the second time that Daniel Ortega orders jail against him.

On February 11 of this year, the Thirteenth Criminal Trial Judge, Ulisa Yahoska Tapia Silva, sentenced the prisoner of conscience to 10 years in prison for the alleged crimes of “conspiracy to undermine national integrity”, covered by the controversy Law 1055 or Law of Sovereignty and for spreading “false news”.

In interview with Article 66one of his relatives said on condition of anonymity that he regrets that Parajón is serving a sentence for little things he never committed, because all he did was demand justice for the death of his brother, Jimmy, murdered on May 11, 2018 while protesting in the Polytechnic University of Nicaragua (Upoli).

“On the fourth of July, Yader (Parajón) was serving 10 months of being unjustly imprisoned in the El Chipote prisons. This is sad, we do not see that there is hope because that man — the dictator Daniel Ortega — represses more. You don’t see a little light in the tunnel », he expressed.

The last time Parajón’s relatives were able to visit him in “El Chipote” was on July 12. As revealed, the prisoner of conscience is “thin, shy; I no longer look like he was before, active, happy».

“He says that he is fine, he says that we should not grieve, but it is a lie, we are his family and we know that he is not emotionally well. It is obvious that Yader is not going to say what really happens to him because he can be punished, “added his relative.

Parajón’s relative demanded the immediate release of the political prisoner from the Daniel Ortega regime. “Claiming for justice is not a crime, he only demanded justice for the death of his brother.”

The opponent was captured by the Ortega Police on September 4, 2021, when he was trying to leave Nicaragua through the border with Honduras, in El Guasaule. Parajón was a psychology student at the Central American University (UCA.

Parajón is one of the 190 political prisoners of the Daniel Ortega dictatorship. The Nicaraguan justice system has charged most of the opponents with common crimes and accused others of alleged “treason against the fatherland.”
