99% of covid-19 cases in Uruguay are omicron, according to report

“Report of 11.2.22 evidences that Ómicron already reaches 99% of the studies sequenced in the last two weeks“, he wrote on his Twitter account.

The minister highlighted the survey of the Interdisciplinary Work Group (GTI), the Institut Pasteur, the University of the Republic, the ATGen laboratory and the American Sanatorium when pointing out the study data, which account for the incidence and rapid spread of the variant South African over delta, the former predominant strain.

Until this Saturday, Uruguay had 53,066 active cases, of which 166 are in CTI.
