97% of motorized vehicles complied with the Vehicle Technical Inspection, from February 1 there will be fines

The National Directorate of Inspection and Collections of the Bolivian Police reported this Tuesday that, to date, 97% of motorized vehicles in the country complied with the Inspection Vehicle Technology (ITV), for which reason a possible extension was ruled out.

“Today (Tuesday) the extension ends, as of February 1, the fines to all citizens who did not do the Technical Inspection Vehicular 2022 (…) we are over 97% nationwide,” reported the national director of Inspection and Collections, Juan Carlos Mercado.

From this January 1, the controls begin and the drivers of the offending vehicles will be sanctioned with a fine of Bs 100.

The police chief asserted that, in the country there is a total of 1,260,000 vehicles of the automotive fleet that were contemplated to carry out their ITV; of these, 1,243,000 have already met this requirement.

During the 2022 administration, 148 points were set up to attend uninterruptedly, from 08:00 to 18:00, but during this day, even the last motorized vehicle in line will be served.
