Ernesto Guevara de la Sernabetter known as Che Guevara was born in the city of Rosario and, although it is speculated that it was a month earlier, his birth was recorded on June 14, 1928. According to him it transpired, this would have happened to avoid conflicts in his family, since his mother was pregnant at the time of marriage.
Son of Ernesto Guevara Lynch and Celia De la Serna Llosa, Che He grew up in Alta Gracia, Córdoba, where he experienced the asthma that afflicted him with less difficulty. the revolutionary leaderstudied medicine and, after that, undertook a motorcycle trip through Latin America, along with his friend Alberto Granado.
After that, the politician and writer began his second trip in 1953, where he witnessed the coup in Guatemala. There, faced with a critical social situation, Guevara He joined the youth communist and health brigades. At the same time, it would work for him to organize the guerrillas in Nicaragua.
After passing through Nicaragua, Ernesto would go to Mexico. During his two years there, the doctor developed his ideals and joined the movement led by Fidel Castro, in order to overthrow the dictator Fulgencio Batista in Cuba. Over there, Che he triumphed as one of the leaders of the Cuban Revolution.
After the revolution, Ernesto became Minister of Industry and also launched himself as president of the National Bank of Cuba. However, in time, he was captured in the Bolivian jungle. There, he was tortured and executed by the US Army in October 1967.
The spaces dedicated to Guevara
In October 2002, Che He was declared an Illustrious Citizen “post mortem”, by decree of the Municipality of Rosario. In that same year, it was also decided that a section of the highway that connects Rosario with Córdoba would bear his name.
In the city of Santa Fe, the doctor has multiple tributes, among which are a monument and a study center. The latter is neither more nor less than the Center for Latin American Studies (CELChe), which opened its doors in 2011.
The center located on the banks of the Paraná has extensive photographic material on Che. In addition, a tour of his history is offered there. Although the place does not function as a museum, it is presented as a space for reflection and debate, where the objective is to maintain the ideas of the Che in force.
