911 system coordinates fire assistance in Rafey free zone

Santiago, DR. – The National Emergency and Security System 911 reported that it coordinated assistance for a fire in the Rafey industrial zone, Santiago, which was seen by the 911 video surveillance cameras.

Upon receiving the report, response units were immediately activated, including an ambulance from the Directorate of Extra-hospital Emergency Services (DAEH); 14 trucks from the Navarrete, Mao, San José de Las Matas and Moca Fire Departments; a unit from the National Police and one from the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (DIGESETT).

According to reports, a warehouse caught fire in the free zone, with no reports of people affected. The incident is still ongoing.

Firefighters are working hard to control the fire, using whatever resources are necessary to prevent it from spreading to other areas.

The 911 System urges citizens to yield to emergency vehicles to ensure prompt and timely assistance, and reminds them of the importance of remaining calm and following the instructions of authorities in emergency situations.
