Around 90% of the graduates of the School of Hospitality, Gastronomy and Pastry of the National Institute of Professional Technical Training (Infotep)in Higueyare required by hotels, restaurants and other businesses linked to tourism, which allows their immediate insertion in the labor market, thus contributing to the sector having trained and certified human resources.

Within the training actions offered in the School of Hospitality, Gastronomy and Pastry there is the ABC of wine, basic bar waiter courses, concierge, bellman bellboy buttons, hotel porter, handler of food hygiene standards, butler, resort butler (hotel), hotel receptionist, basic confectionery, technique confectionery, baking and confectionery techniques, plating techniques and kitchen decorations, among others.

Diplomas in creative cuisine and in management and assembly of events and banquets are also taught.
The Pedagogical Coordinator of that school, Henry Romero Céspedes, stressed that all the training offered at the school is free, in addition to being accompanied by English classes.
He also highlighted that the Infotep Hotel, Gastronomy and Pastry School not only trains new technicians, but also their services are required by hoteliers to validate the skills of their collaborators so that they obtain the corresponding certifications.
He recalled that it was built with financing from the French Development Agency (AFD) and Infotep’s own resources. It also has the technical advice of the prestigious Avignon Hotel School.
