Nine million 858 thousand 81 people in Cuba have a complete anti-COVID-19 vaccination schedule, a figure equivalent to 88.1 percent (%) of the country’s population, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) published today.
Until February 12, 10 million 591 thousand 632 people received at least one dose of the national vaccines Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala; They already have a second dose of nine million 361 thousand 846 and a third dose of nine million 37 thousand 475.
According to the MINSAP report, published on its official website, to date there have been 34,735,729 administered doses in the country.
A total of five million 744 thousand 577 people have received booster doses, of which 274 thousand 183 as part of the Clinical Study and five million 470 thousand 394 belong to the booster vaccination that is being applied to the population of selected territories and risk groups .
Of the total, 24 million 122 thousand 185 are related to the mass vaccination process; with the health intervention, nine million 618 thousand 831; 454 thousand 064 correspond to the intervention study; and to clinical trials, 266 thousand 466.
Cuban health authorities assure that the control measures implemented in the country, and especially vaccination, have been decisive in the current decrease in the number of positive cases for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes COVID-19.
Cuba has accumulated, since March 2020, one million 61 thousand 524 confirmed cases of the virus, eight thousand 476 deaths from COVID-19 and one million 48 thousand 238 recovered, which is equivalent to 98.7% of infections.
