80 families are evicted from a farm in Cochabamba, they were illegally settled

The Cochabamba Police, the IThe National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INRA), in addition to other institutions, carried out an operation from eviction in the La Angostura area, in the Arbieto municipality of that department. In the place, a group of people remained illegally settled and began the construction of at least 80 houses.

“Today we are supervising the eviction as an institution, at the time we have notified to people who were illegally settled in this sector (…) Now with the coordination of the authorities: the Governor’s Office, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ombudsman’s Office and the Mayor’s Office, as INRA we are doing our job”, informed the departmental director of that institute, Armando Mita, quoted by ABI.

According to Bolivia TV (BTV), the properties allegedly subjugated belong to the Canelas farm.

“They were notified, they knew that they did not have to make new improvements, new innovations, subdivisions, transfers,” Mita said.

Some of those affected tried to justify their presence in the place. According to the testimonies, those involved mention that they have lived in the area for several years since they would have acquired the land a decade ago.

Three trucks carried the belongings of the families evicted. They were previously inventoried and loaded onto the vehicles, with the presence of notaries to control the transfer.
