The proportion (81%) is higher than the 61% who said in the 2021 survey that they would pay with a credit card in the previous edition of Buen Fin.
The second method of payment is the debit card (49%), followed by departmental cards (28%) and installment purchase without a card (12%).
The AMVO also estimated that 80% of Mexicans plan to make a purchase during the days of the Good End.
Consumers are increasingly interested in paying for experiences, so “during this holiday season, consumer and retail companies must capitalize on the opportunity to offer innovative experiences to connect with their customers, highlighting the values that the Consumers are prioritizing this end of the year, such as connecting with loved ones, traveling and buying products more consciously,” said Francisco Oliveres, EY’s leading consumer industry partner for North Latin America, in a study.
The EY Mexico survey indicates that five out of 10 consumers will be more careful about how much they need the product they want to purchase; In addition, 40% plan to make their purchases in advance to avoid crowds in stores.
Both AMVO and EY México agree on the items that they will look for the most in this edition of the Good End: electronic items and video games.
Buyers expect discounts of up to 70%, while the main benefits pointed out by potential buyers are interest-free months, additional bank discounts and bonuses.
Among the purchase barriers for this edition of the Good End, the AMVO study revealed that buyers do not trust promotions (52%), the current economic situation and inflation (34%).
