Minister Alexandre de Moraesof the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Determined the arrest of Diego Dias Ventura, accused of acting as one of the leaders of the coup camp who was installed in front of the Army barracksin Brasilia, at the end of 2022.
THE Arrest warrant was signed on Tuesday (12) after the minister was informed that Diego broke the electronic anklet and is missing.
“On 6/8/2025, the State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration of the State of Rio de Janeiro reported the end of the battery of the accused’s electronic anklet, which has been off since 02/07/2025, and there is a break from the ankleira strap, opened since 07/07/2025,” says the decision.
In July this year, The accused was convicted by the STF to 14 years in prison for participating in the scammer acts of January 8, 2023in addition to the solidarity payment of R $ 30 million for the damage caused by the depredation.
During investigations, Diego was arrested, but gained the right to respond to the process in freedom.
According to the prosecution of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), Diego acted in the coordination of camp logistics and participated in the scammer acts in the Praça dos Três Powers.
In the demonstration sent to the Supreme Court during the trial, Diego Ventura’s lawyers defended acquittal for lack of evidence.
According to the defense, the accused participated in a “peaceful manifestation in Brasilia” and has no bond with acts of violence practiced by others.
