7 provinces raised to green alert due to tropical disturbance

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported that it maintains 09 provinces on yellow alert and increases 06 and the National District in green, due to the fact that this Saturday a rather humid and unstable meteorological pattern continues over the country, due to the effects associated with a tropical disturbance with low potential for reach the category of tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours, which will continue favoring cloudy developments with heavy downpours at times, electrical storms and gusts of wind.

Puerto Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Samaná, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal and La Altagracia are on yellow alert.

While the provinces on green alert are Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, La Vega, San Cristóbal, Monte Cristi, Santiago and San Pedro de Macorís.

The COE recommended that people refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

Likewise, he urged the population and first response organizations on the Atlantic Coast to strictly follow the restriction contained in the marine report of the Dominican Institute of Metrology (Indomet).
