He explained that the investigation showed that the fires were produced by the cleaning of lots, inadequate pest control methods and minimal improvised landfills, being more frequent in the areas of Bávaro, Friusa, Boulevard, Coral, Verón, Cocotal and Circunvalación avenue. .

It was also determined that these accidents have been caused by real estate developers, who, in order to clean up their land, set it on fire without implementing any type of measure to prevent it from spreading or affecting the population.

Environment said that three fire management technicians, 16 forest firefighters, seven park rangers, 27 UHR soldiers and four structural fire units are working hard to put out the fires with the support of the Cap Cana and Punta Cana group.

“Several sources of fire have been eliminated and those that remain are intended to be eliminated tomorrow (Thursday),” he said.

Next to the fire sources, signs of real estate projects and land sales are observed, which are under investigation to confirm the status of permits and rule out links.
