69.4% of exporters are micro-enterprises

In June of this year, 69.4% of companies exporters were micro-enterprises, revealed the Center for Research on Global Economy and Business of the Association of Exporters (ONE HUNDRED-ADEX).

A total of 3,482 businesses sent products or services abroad, of which 2,418 were micro, 964 small, 73 large and 25 medium. “In the sixth month, the number of Peruvian exporters reached 3,482, reflecting an increase of 44% compared to the same month last year,” the association said.

He also revealed that in terms of amounts sent, 92.2% was from large companies. Small companies accounted for 5.7%, medium-sized companies 1.5%, and in this case micro companies accounted for 0.6%.

“The highest stock corresponded to the agro-industry. Then there were mining, chemicals, clothing, metalworking, miscellaneous, iron and steel, fishing and aquaculture, traditional agriculture, textiles, non-metallic mining, wood, hydrocarbons and primary fishing,” ADEX indicated.

On the other hand, he revealed that in the first half of the year, Lima was the region with the most exporting companies, followed by Puno, Callao, Piura and Ica.

In the first half of the year, a total of 6,695 companies were registered as having sold abroad. 55.5% of companies exported to a single country, 35% to between two and five economies, 4.9% to between six and nine nations, and 10% to 10 or more.

“78% exported products from one sector, 13.9% from two, 4.6% from three, and 3.5% from four or more. In relation to the exportable supply, 50.7% of the firms sent a single product abroad, demonstrating their vulnerability to possible external shocks,” he stressed.
