In 2021, Rafael Santos, eldest son of the “Cacique de la Junta” filled his father’s grave with flowers for his birthday. This 2022, the brother of the deceased singer serenaded him.
His grave is in the Santo Ecce Homo Cemetery, in Valledupar, Cesar, the cradle of Vallenato.
9 years ago the voice of the one considered ‘greatest of the vallenato genre’ was extinguished.
And since then, his songs have not stopped playing on radio stations, discos and family parties throughout Colombia and several countries.
Hundreds of followers come to his final resting place in the ‘city of the holy kings’ to pay tribute to him, sing his best-known songs. Many even ask him for miracles.
