63-year-old driver was crushed to death by a bus in the Paso de los Toros workshop

A bus worker of the Tureste company died this thursday morning in Paso de los TorosTacuarembo, while changing the tire to his vehicle, reported the weekly Centro de Paso de los Toros and confirmed to The Observer the chief of police of Tacuarembo, John Saravia.

The man63 years old, he was in his workshopchanging one of the tires of the bus he was driving, when he removed the hydraulic jack and the vehicle fell on top of him. Upon impact, he died on the spot. The incident occurred in the vicinity of 25 de Agosto and Santín C. Rossi, around 11:00 am.

Scientific Police and Firefighters attended the area, where a medical emergency confirmed the death.

The Single Union of Drivers of Tourism Companies (Success) was issued this Thursday about what happened and lamented the death of the driver: “Once again, unfortunately, the window of our sector, transfers and tourism, is opened with functions that do not correspond to drivers doing work in terrible working conditions,” he said.

The union called for a 24-hour strike starting this Friday.
