The Judicial Council found a series of irregularities in the 21 disciplinary courts of the country and decided to fire 63 officials; however, the president of the judicial entity, Marvin Molina, said that those dismissed can reapply for the call that will take place in the coming days.
“Without violating any constitutional right, the current officials have complete freedom to present themselves again and surely if they are in conditions to continue with their work, then it will be so”, he said at a press conference informing that the dismissals will be carried out these days.
In April of this year, the Judicial Council reported the intervention of the 21 disciplinary courts, after learning of the scandal of judges who were releasing convicted femicides. In a first review it was decided to prosecute 11 judges, but the review continued and the final decision was made known on Tuesday.
“After the analysis of this intervention that has been carried out on 999 files we have found more than 400 cases of disciplinary responsibilityespecially due to the unjustifiable delay of disciplinary justice in the country,” said Molina.
Only in the department of Santa Cruz there was not one judge or judicial officer dismissed for offenses committed in the exercise of their functions in the last five years, Despite the fact that more than 200 complaints were filed against judges and jurisdictional officials, reported Molina.
He said that there are three judicial officials in each disciplinary court, all three will be removed from their positions and regretted that in some cases there are people who have become entrenched in the Judicial Branch manipulating the entrance to the judicial career“because there is no career regulation, there is no application of the entry subsystem, we cannot apply the evaluation subsystem in these administrative positions,” he said, despite the fact that these disciplinary courts have already been in force for 10 years.
