This Saturday, the Ernest Hemingway Museum Finca Vigía celebrated its 62nd anniversary with a cultural gala at its headquarters in San Francisco de Paula, in the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón.
Several artists paid tribute to the American writer in the framework of the 125th anniversary of his birth and the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the museum, according to a press release from the National Council of Cultural Heritage cited by AIN.
The event included the award ceremony for the 34th annual Ernest Hemingway Literary Competition. The first prize went to the story “The New One.” The jury was made up of personalities from cultural institutions, including members of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
The book was also presented A great impactby Lázara Isabel Guerra Valido, and a floral offering was placed at the Hemingway sculpture located on the Estate itself.
